Selection of locks:
1. Selection of lock cylinder
When selecting lock cores, it is important to clarify whether the lock you need to install is for outdoor or indoor use. If the former is the case, it is recommended to choose lock cores with more than 6 cores. The safety index is relatively high. If it is for indoor use, we can choose lock cores with less than 6 cores or coin slot lock cores without pins. Because when we close the door and lock the room ourselves, we may not use many of them, and some may not even know how to lock it. Therefore, installing simpler lock cores is generally sufficient.
2. Selection of lock body
Usually, the entrance lock for entering the house adopts multiple types of tongue locks, mainly to improve the functions of anti-theft, impact proof, and anti cutting. If it is indoors, single tongue or double tongue lock bodies can be selected.
3. Door lock feel
If it feels difficult to close the door after installing the door lock, it is because the gap between the door leaf and the door frame cannot maintain a certain rule. If it exceeds this range, the door leaf may be squeezed tightly or the size of the door leaf and door frame may be different. Therefore, when shopping for locks, everyone must correspond clearly.
Installation of locks:
1. Please hire experienced carpenters or masters with considerable knowledge of locks for installation. And according to the fixed distance template in the product manual, drill holes for the support socket, locking plate, and locking box to prepare for installation.
2. Check if the drilled holes are correct and strictly follow the steps in the product installation manual. If you find that the lock switch is not flexible or cannot be opened after installation, you should consult the locksmith in a timely manner. The technical service department and after-sales service department of the distributor or manufacturer of the product are responsible for resolving any issues.
3. If there are no problems with the product installation and inspection, remove the product and wait for the door to be painted and dried (it is recommended to wait for at least two to three days) before reinstalling the lock. The purpose is to avoid the paint sticking to the lock product, affecting its appearance and performance (often due to the inflexible transmission caused by the paint sticking to the lock). When the paint is not completely dried, the chemical gas will corrode the product, accelerate the surface treatment of the product, affect the appearance and reduce the service life of the lock.
During the decoration of the house, please seal the exposed parts of the lock handle, panel, etc. with a plastic bag (do not contact the adhesive surface of the self adhesive tape with the lock surface) to prevent the surface treatment layer of the lock components from being corroded by acidic or alkaline materials and gases during decoration, resulting in spots, bubbles, or even delamination, which seriously affects the appearance quality of the lock.
Maintenance of locks:
1. Regularly keep the transmission parts of the lock body lubricated to ensure smooth transmission and extend its service life. It is recommended to check once every six months or a year, and also check whether the fastening screws are loose to ensure tightness.
2. During the use of the lock, regularly (every six months or a year) or when the key insertion and removal are not smooth, a small amount of graphite powder or pencil powder can be applied to the lock core groove to ensure smooth key insertion and removal. But it is important to avoid adding any other oil for lubrication to prevent grease from sticking to the pin spring, which may cause the lock head to fail to rotate and open.
3. Regularly check the fit gap between the lock body and the lock buckle plate, whether the height fit between the lock tongue and the lock buckle plate hole is appropriate, and the fit gap between the door and the door frame should be 1.5mm-2.5mm. If any changes are found, adjust the position of the hinge or locking plate on the door. At the same time, pay attention to the cold shrinkage and heat expansion caused by weather (humid in spring and dry in winter) to ensure that the gaps between doors and door frames, lock bodies and lock buckle plates are properly matched to ensure smooth use of locks., You can directly ask the manufacturer's personnel when making a purchase.
4. During normal use, if there is dirt, it can be removed with a dry cloth. Do not use chemicals such as dishwashing detergent to scrub. Otherwise, it will damage the protective film of exposed parts and cause fading. Do not wipe the lock body and handle with a damp cloth, as some metal locks may rust as a result; Locks made of alloy materials will wear off the coating and lose their aesthetic effect. Some zinc alloy and copper locks may have "spots" when installed on doors for a long time. This phenomenon does not belong to rust, but to oxidation. If this happens, simply use a surface wax spray to remove the spots.
